New drugs are coming to the country via Dark web
According to Drug Control Department officials, drugs, such as LSD and DOB, are being smuggled into the country from Poland by paying Bitcoin via Dark web with an online deposit to avoid the eyes of law enforcement Agencies.
This information was conveyed by Additional Director Fazlur Rahman at a press conference held at the Dhaka Metro North office of the Drug Control Department in Tejgaon on Tuesday (November 23) afternoon.
Regarding the operation, Fazlur Rahman said that five LSD strips were seized from the Elephant Road branch of the Sundarbans Courier Service in the capital on November 21. It is known that its main leader is located in Khulna. According to him, Mohammad Asif Ahmed Shuvo and Arnab Kumar Sharma were arrested in a raid in Boyra Muzgunni area of Khulna on Saturday morning. Later, Mamunur Rashid, manager of Sundarbans Courier Service was arrested. Shubho is a former student of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University and Arnab is a student of Diploma Engineering.
Among them, Shubho said during interrogation that he brought hundreds of DOBs from outside the country. As they look like SIM cards, the DOB drug has to be taken on the tongue just like the LSD. These drugs are collected from Poland using Bitcoin via Dark web.
